Perilaku Frequent Story Posting pada Pengguna Instagram: Kajian Psikologis terhadap Kebutuhan Validasi dan Konstruksi Identitas Digital

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji perilaku frequent story posting pada pengguna media sosial dengan menitikberatkan pada kebutuhan validasi sosial, pengaruh respons digital terhadap evaluasi diri dan regulasi emosi, serta perannya dalam konstruksi identitas digital. Kajian ini dilandasi oleh kesenjangan penelitian, di mana studi sebelumnya masih berfokus pada penggunaan media sosial secara umum dan belum secara spesifik mengkaji dinamika psikologis pada fitur story yang bersifat temporer dan berbasis respons real time. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif fenomenologis terhadap delapan pengguna aktif berusia 19–25 tahun yang secara rutin mengunggah story minimal tiga kali per hari. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara mendalam dan observasi digital, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan analisis tematik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kebutuhan validasi sosial menjadi pendorong utama intensitas unggahan, respons digital berfungsi sebagai mekanisme evaluasi diri dan regulasi emosi yang memengaruhi kepercayaan diri maupun kecemasan, serta frequent story posting berperan dalam proses kurasi dan negosiasi identitas digital secara dinamis berdasarkan umpan balik audiens. Penelitian ini berkontribusi pada pengembangan literatur psikologi media dengan menempatkan frequent story posting sebagai praktik psikososial berbasis platform yang mengintegrasikan validasi sosial, respons digital, dan konstruksi identitas dalam satu kerangka analisis yang komprehens.
