Transformasi Epistemologis dan Disiplin Etis: Analisis Mendalam terhadap Pemikiran Brian Silverstein mengenai Sufisme dan Modernitas di Turki

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pemikiran Brian Silverstein mengenai transformasi sufisme di Turki dalam konteks modernitas sekuler pasca penutupan tekke tahun 1925. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi pustaka melalui analisis terhadap karya-karya utama Silverstein serta literatur akademik yang relevan mengenai sufisme dan modernitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sufisme di Turki tidak mengalami kemunduran akibat modernitas, tetapi mengalami transformasi epistemologis dan institusional melalui praktik disiplin etis, pembentukan diri religius, serta penguatan komunitas melalui praktik sohbet dan institusi vakıf. Analisis juga menunjukkan bahwa model disciplinary sufism yang dikemukakan Silverstein lebih merefleksikan dinamika sufisme urban kelas menengah sehingga belum sepenuhnya merepresentasikan keragaman praktik sufisme kontemporer. Kajian ini menegaskan pentingnya pendekatan multidimensional untuk memahami transformasi sufisme dalam konteks masyarakat Muslim modern.
